2 uur Columbia River Gorge Sightseeing Cruise

We were on the 1:30pm excursion on September 6, 2021. We throughly enjoyed the Captain on the up river portion. He was very informative and personable. We also enjoyed the Captain who took us down river. He was also informative.

When on this cruise as a part of our anniversary vacation. Nats everywhere! Flying into food that was brought out landing in our drinks as well. Was brought to the crews attention by a few different people but they didn’t seem to care. Ordered appetizers and got one way after getting our dinner. Crew didn’t come to refill our waters or replace the drinks that had nats that landed in them.

The trip was crowded on the upper deck. So much so that it made us nervous RE Covid. Sights were disappointing. Narration was impossible to hear

It was magical! I suggest everyone to go on the cruise and see the iconic views at least once in their life 😍🤩

I took my aunt who was visiting from out of town along with my 4yo. The boat was really neat and my son enjoyed exploring it. The staff was friendly and the tour was informative - I learned things as a local. The tour headed West to start, then turned around and within an hour we were back at the dock. Then we picked up more passengers and it headed East and back for the second hour. We were a little confused by this (I must have missed that in the description and reviews). For the most part we enjoyed it and I would recommend if you are just looking for a simple and short river cruise.

I found Viator through a general Google search for outings/excursions to do in Portland, Oregon. I was very excited to purchase a sightseeing cruise on a boat at a reasonable price through Viator and made the purchase immediately. I had no trouble with Viator's prices or using their online booking and ticketing system (which is why I am giving 2-stars), but I was highly disappointed when the boat tour was cancelled on the day of without our notice. The drive to the dock was an hour outside of Portland, and planning for the day was around this boat event, so when it was cancelled due to "mechanical issues" it essentially ruined our day, with the drive time to boot. I understand Viator is a 3rd-party seller and the boat company's issues are not their fault, but Viator's service should track and hold the companies that they contract with on their end accountable to ensure that their paying customers would be given an amazing experience. Upon finding out the tour was cancelled when we arrived (45 mins early, as directed), I had to call the boat company directly in order to ask for any alternative plans, resources, and a refund. Although I did receive a full refund from Viator, I am unsure if that would have happened had I not called the boat company directly and asked them to send the note to Viator--it was never suggested by either the boat company or Viator to offer the refund or any compensation or incentive for our drive time or our inconvenience, I had to ask. It is also frustrating to know that there is no guarantee through booking on Viator that they companies they work with will follow through. I was really excited to take this cruise and was highly disappointed when we not only had the day ruined, but with no extra care in the matter at all. In the future, due to this lack of service and attention to this completely inconvenient matter, I will not be using or recommending Viator or this company to any fellow friends, family, or fellow travelers. I have yet to hear any follow up from this situation and am highly doubtful that I will.

Nice ride on the Columbia River. The paddle wheel made you feel like a covalent from the pst. The Captain gave interesting facts and stories of past settlers and explorers that used the Columbia River.

The narration was outstanding by the captain. We learned about the geology of the area as well as the economic impact of the area. Well done. Thank you

I loved every moment! The staff was very polite, extremely clean and covid precautions. However, please note that this is not a trip to do in the bus or train, cat bus passes only 3x a day. we did it in the train, bus and uber! we were blessed to have strangers to give us a ride to the bus in order for us to catch it on time. the location is not close to portland.
