Our family of 8 enjoyed the kayak tour around the Amalfi coast. This was much more enjoyable than fighting the crowds by foot in the 103F degree heat! With 2 kids under 12 yrs we skipped the extended tour of the caves (in rough currents and wind) and enjoyed an hour snorkeling on a secluded beach. Be prepared to work your arms as kayaking is not for the unfit. Our team of guides were fabulous, very helpful and informative.

Great Adventure…overpaid through Viator

I wish I could remember the guides’ names…they were great. Really fun adventure and we absolutely loved kayaking along the Amalfi coast and swimming in the pristine waters. They take tons of photos too and share the link with you afterwards.
The only disappointment was what we paid through Viator, I know they have to make money for the service, but we paid $20 more per person for our large group booking through them rather than directly through Amalfi Coast Kayak Tours which charges €50. We learned that the day of. We booked several other tours through Viator and I can’t bring myself to investigate how much we overpaid for tours we could have booked while on the trip for much less. Sigh. I just figured it would be a smaller fee per booking but it is substantial.

Wonderful Tour! The total number of people on our tour was 10. There were 3 very helpful and kind guides. We launched from a small beach area and kayaked past many landmarks which were explained to us by the guides. We stopped a few times to rest and one time to get out of the kayaks onto a beach for water and melon. The guides took great pictures which were emailed to us the next day.

Antonio was a great guide! He was personable, funny, and could answer a lot of questions about the Amalfi region. I went with my best friend and he brought us water bottles and a melon that he cut open for us.
We even got to hop off of our kayaks for a while to do some snorkeling. We saw a few different types of fish, especially cute orange ones inside one of the grottos.
One tip though: this was my first time sea kayaking and the waves can get to you if you experience sea sickness. I recommend taking some meds beforehand. Antonio was kind to get me additional water and some bread too, which helped once we reached the shore.
Overall a wonderful experience. You don’t want to miss this!
Also, keep your eyes peeled on your email. Antonio sends info about transportation and such :) take the ferry from Amalfi if you can!
