Our guide Craig was truly the best guide we have ever met. He was so knowledgeable and accommodating. His story telling was fabulous and you can really see he enjoys his work as a guide. About the Red Light area, it was very different from what we expected. It is actually a area filled with historical sights. The history in combination with the prostitution and coffeeshops makes it an unique area that is a must see for anyone visiting Amsterdam. Thank you Craig, the best guide of Amsterdam!

The tour was interesting. However considering the price point no value for money. The guide was nice but seemed uncomfortable to talk about sex and drugs. - strange for being a guide Further I believe he scheduled us into the wrong Museum. As we visited the erotic museum not the one described on the tour. I guess it’s cheaper Over all value for money wasn’t there and I personally think it could be more fun.

A Total Waste of Money

Do not book this! It is completely falsely advertised. We were met by a very unprofessional guide (wearing dirty clothes, with no sign). We walked around the entirety of Amsterdam (which we had previously seen) and spent 10 minutes in the Red Light District. We booked the option to the Sex Museum and were taken to a different museum that was completely underwhelming. We learned absolutely nothing about the red light district, which we expected as the entirety of this tour as it is advertised. This was a complete waste of money.

We had a great time with Max in the red light area tour. Max was full of enthusiasm and gave great insights into the history of the area. We enjoyed the various nuggets he shared on the legal prostitution business and we appreciated his advice on the coffee shops. All in all a great evening and would recommend this tour.

Why the tour had some interesting moments, overall we felt that it was a bit of a waste of our time and money. Our tour spent a lot of time telling us about where he used to live and even though my wife was clearly uncomfortable and we expressed a desire to get back to our hotel, he didn't seem to understand that we were ready to get back and was still showing us things.

We enjoyed this tour and felt that Catherine (I believe that is her name) did a great job showing us the sights and explaining the history behind the red light district. She was from the US so was easy to understand. We learned a lot and had a great time. I can’t say anything about the coffee shop because we didn’t go (our choice). If you are curious about the red light district, this tour is for you.

The tour operator did not do a particularly good job of communicating in advance (i.e. confirmation, guide contact information, etc.), but the guide was extraordinarily knowledgeable about the history and development of the Old City section and was very personable.

Our guide Max was fantastic. He is so personable and down to Earth. He guided my friend and I through the Red Light District, and pointed out a lot of things we would've never known.
