I want to start off by thanking on of the best guides I have had from my tour/traveling experiences with VIATOR, Elizabeth from Spain, thank you so much for the wonderful tour, so sweet and engaging with everyone (when I say everyone, I mean EVERYONE!) she took the time to explain and answer every single question, made it so much fun and learned so much from her, once again thank you Elizabeth. The tour itself is AMAZING!!! My teenage daughters and myself enjoyed every little bit of it! Another trip that Viator has aced! Thanks a bunch!

It was very nice, a must see trip. We could only book the Spanish tour, but they managed to transfer us to the English tour, with the guide Rob, who was amazing. We really recommend it.

What a wonderful trip. So glad to do it. Our tour guide Xievier and driver Jack did great job. Trip needs a lot of walk on each place. But it’s worthy and pleasure trip. I would do it again next time

Different shops and how cheese is made, wooden clogs made. I think more time needs to be added on this trip. Not enough time

Great tour for anyone who is interested in getting to know a little bit more about the Netherlands (history, places of interest, local delicacies, anecdotes and many more). Our tour guide, Miguel, have told many interesting facts and local anecdotes; and have recommended other places of interest for food, sightseeing, experience. We have actually happen to be on the tour during a cheese festival (which doesn’t happen very often) and it was great to see the re-enactment of cheese trade done in the olden days (see pictures). Although the tour was for 6.5 hours it had a really good flow to it and the bus journey was very comfortable and not too long (gratitudes to our driver, Peter) :)

Great choice of a day trip from Amsterdam with delightful tour guide

Memorable and worthwhile experience that I would highly recommend. Our tour guide, Miguel, was super friendly and funny, and made our experience superb. The timing of our arrival in Zaanse Schans was perfect, avoiding the bulk of the tourist rush, and the visit to Edam and the cheese factory was charming. However, as a half day trip, our time in Volendam felt rushed and I almost would have rather had more time there than have visited Marken at all. Otherwise, the tour was perfect and I would 100% recommend!

A wonderful day outside the city

I had researched all the trips to see the windmills and finally settled on this one. It was wonderful. The bus was comfortable, our tour guide was informative and we could hear it in the back of the bus as well. Each stop seemed perfectly timed to me-- we saw what was needed without feeling rushed or waiting wasting time. The cheese and clogs were interesting and the windmills were nice to see. I didn't care if I got inside one or not. We got there ahead of a lot of buses so it wasn't too crowded. I thought I really needed Marken. It was nice but if I'd ended up without it I would have been okay, but it was nice to see several places outside the city. We added the canal boat ride which was reasonably priced and convenient to do right after the tour. I recommend adding that, especially if you have a lot on your list of things to do while you're here.

Lovely taste of Dutch culture

I would strongly recommend this trip to anyone visiting The Netherlands. You are able to experience traditional Dutch culture including windmills, clogs and lots of cheese! We had plenty of time to enjoy the tour at our own pace. A special mention to our amazing guide Xavier who gave a very informative insight to each place we saw. Perhaps the visit to Marken wasn't necessary as it is a very small village which was nit as prepared tkr tourism so felt a little unwelcoming to a large party.

Ilyo was a terrific guide. He had so much knowledge and was so helpful throughout the tour to make sure everyone had a great experience. We loved seeing all these small villages and learning about the culture outside Amsterdam. I highly recommend this tour to everyone!!!

Beautiful Dutch Scenery

Overall, this was a very nice day - lots of stunning views of the Dutch countryside. The cheesemaking tour was a bit disappointing, as they explained how cheese was made but showed nothing. The cheese tasting was wonderful. The same location showed wooden shoe making, and that was quite interesting. The last couple of locations were very similar - nice villages by a lake. Both lovely, but basically a walk-through.
