Westmoreland St, Dublin, Ireland

The tour will end at the drop off point of Westmoreland Street, Dublin 2 at 6.15pm. The Temple Bar side of the street.

Depart Dublin early to get maximum time at your first stop of the day – Kilkenny Castle. Built in the 12th century, this Anglo-Norman castle stands dramatically along the River Nore, dominating the backdrop of Kilkenny city. Tour the castle at your own pace, exploring the renovated chambers and corridors, and then meander through the enchanting rose garden before heading into town. At your leisure, explore the charming village of Kilkenny. A true mecca of medieval architecture, Kilkenny offers many splendid sights for the cultured explorer. Explore the Black Abbey, built in 1225, and the Hole in the Wall Elizabethan Tavern, both recently restored to their original design. And don’t miss St Francis Abbey Brewery, brewing Irish ales for more than eight centuries.

Following your Kilkenny tour, stop at the foot of the Wicklow Mountains, where you'll be able to see border collies corral sheep across the fields.

Afterward, head over the wild and rugged Wicklow Gap glacial valley for some spectacular views of the Wicklow Mountains National Park. Enjoy a unique photo opportunity with a scheduled stop at the top of the mountain. Gaze down through the centuries old passage way linking east and west Wicklow. Retrace the footsteps which the Celtic clans and St Kevin travelled when traveling through the forested countryside and view the park’s upper slopes, blanketed in heath and bog, before dipping down into the glacial valley of Glendalough.

Throughout history, visitors have come to ‘the valley of the two lakes’ for its mystical history, archaeology and unique wildlife. The monastic city of Glendalough, found in the 6th century by St. Kevin, was once an active locale featuring areas for manuscript writing and copying, an infirmary, guest houses, and a monastery. Now it offers guests a peek into Ireland’s rich cultural history. You’ll have approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes to journey through the monastic city before heading back to Dublin.

What a great trip!! Richard and Joe worked hard to make this a great day for everyone. We have found the Irish people in general to be kind friendly and generous, especially when I tell them I think I am just a little bit lost.

NOTHING - we did not get...

NOTHING - we did not get to take the trip, they refused a refund, they take over 10 hours to get back to you via email or text. I suggested a trip the next day that was 20 Euro cheaper. They NEVER got back to me! Beware!

Donald, Say what you want all lies but the truth. You did not show for the tour on the Wednesday, simple - - - - -. You were offered a free transfer to another date but you declined stating unavailable to travel. Phone are lines open 7.30am to 9.30pm and the all emails are responded to within 10 minutes. You were booked on the Wicklow / Kilkenny tour which is the lowest price tour we offer, what are you talking about "suggested a trip 20 Euro cheaper" The tour you did not show for, Richard was the guide and Joe the driver. Look see the 5 star reviews posted from other satisfied viator customers. We did everything we could to facilite but never good enough, you behave like a spoilt ---- Man up and grow up!

Beautiful and Fun Tour

This was a fantastic day tour to Kilkenny, Kilkenny Castle, the Wicklow Mountains and the sheep farm, and the very spiritual Glendalough Monastery. There was enough time to see some of the city of Kilkenny and the castle before moving through the mountains to the working sheep farm. Lovely demonstration of sheep herding by a very personable farmer welcoming the group on to his farm. The highlight was being on the grounds of Glendalough Monastery which was very moving and beautiful. The tour was guided but still gave you plenty of time to explore on your own. Our guide and driver, Richard and Joe, were both very personable and knowledgeable. We learned much about these amazing places. We enjoyed this trip very much.
