8:00 AM
Begin the tour by getting picked up at your central Dubrovnik hotel and then head out of the city via comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. Enjoy the view of the Adriatic and the Dubrovnik Riviera and the rural Konavle region, as your guide drives the van and gives you background on the history of Montenegro, a diminutive and overlooked Balkan country.

After crossing the border, ride along the coast roads, which curve around bay after bay. Admire the beautiful Bay of Kotor, Europe’s southernmost fjord, and stop in the village of Risan for a photo opportunity and to stretch your legs.

Later, hop out of the van to explore Perast. Stroll the streets and learn about the devastating earthquake that rocked the village in the 1970s, destroying much of the medieval town. Take in some of the Gothic and baroque buildings and then get on a boat to cruise out to a tiny island to check out the Church of Our Lady of the Rocks (at own expense).

After a boat ride back, get back in the van and ride to Kotor. The walled city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a fun stroll. Pop into the Cathedral of St. Tryphon and take some time to explore on your own.

Finally, head on to Budva, a walled city on the sea, sort of like a mini Dubrovnik. Drink in the views of the sea and take some time to relax on the beach or walk the narrow lanes inside the walls.

After some free time to explore, meet the guide at the prearranged time and start your journey back to Dubrovnik. Enjoy one last delight—a ferry crossing along the Bay of Kotor—and then finish your tour in the late afternoon back at your hotel.

Cross the border to Montenegro and travel along the picture-perfect Montenegro coast, typified by sweeping blonde-sand beaches. It was worth paying extra for a private tour!

It was worth paying extra for a private tour. Our guide showed up on time and we were able to leave at 730am instead of 8am. We got thru the border crossings quickly and learned SO much about Montenegro and Croatia from our driver. He was so nice and so easy to talk with. I unfortunately dont remember his name. My tip - avoid going on the weekend! We went on a Monday and traffic was not bad at all. This was a great day and experience! I recommend.

Perast and Kotor both delightful

Our driver Ivan, was polite, friendly and punctual. He had an excellent knowledge of Dubrovnik and had lots to share along the way. His English was excellent and what’s more he could understand us. We had heard a lot about the long queues at the border going into Montenegro but Ivan had a plan B which meant on the way we had only half a dozen cars in front, and on our return we were only held up for half an hour. We had 3 possible stops, so he gave us options but allowed to make the decisions on how we spent our time in each town. After reading other reviews we opted to omit Budva, then spend 50mins in Perast and 2.5hrs in Kotor. The extra time in Perast allowed us to visit our Lady of Rocks church and to stroll around the town. Had we known this would have been a lovely place for lunch as there were quite a few restaurants along the waterfront. In Kotor we did enjoy our leisurely lunch - the cream pie a must. We also visited some of the many churches in the town, and the charming little cat museum! We didn’t have any trouble filling in our time, and the little bit of we saved by not going to Budva probably meant we avoided a much longer queue at the border. All in all we had a very enjoyable day, and felt it was worth travelling 3hrs each way.

The guide, Ivan, was fantastic but the car was too small for 5 adults. We were packed in like sardines for at least 5 hours of riding as traffic was heavy

Hello Judi, Thank you for your review. We are happy you were satisfied with Ivan's service during your tour. We will pass on your regards. The vehicle we sent out on your tour is registered as a 4+1. That means it is designated as a vehicle that can comfortably transport 4 passengers. This is the first time we have had travelers find our vehicles uncomfortable on our private tour. Thank you for booking with us, SuperTours

Beautiful day in Monténégro
Jenny_M
, Aug 2022
We spent an amazing day with Marion who was our very kind and professional guide. We told us about the stories of all the cities we visited. And they were all so beautiful. He adviced us about a very good restaurant in Budva. We had to spend 3h in the border because of the traffic and he stayed professional every seconds. He tried to find solutions and options so our trip could finish smoothly.

Tour was great minus the last stop

We had a great time Our tour guide was awesome, his name was Ivan . He was very knowledgeable and very nice. Border crossing was a little crazy but he went a different border crossing and got us through with no wait. There were 6 adults and one child and all of us enjoyed the 1st two Perast (Our Lady of the Rocks church a must see) ... and Kotor. Our last stop was Budva which none of us enjoyed. It was very dirty. We went to the beach and the water was filthy. I would recommend spending more time in Perast an Kotor.

Fantastic driver and the clearest water ever!
Staige_H

Iva was wonderful- she shared lots of history and language with us and was a super driver. Recommend leaving Dubrovnik by 7:30 am at the latest, and earlier on a weekend, as the border crossing delay can be huge. We were lucky and had no issues, but left early. Small boat to Our Lady of the Rock was fantastic and the water! The water is beyond amazing and you want to just spend all day there. Recommend spending more time and walking around the little town of Perast after the island and having lunch in Kotor and spending most of the time there. We would choose not to do Budva next time and spend lots more time in the town of Kotor. Budva old town is charming, but the drive is time we would have wanted to spend in Kotor. The day was absolutely fabulous, we would hire Iva to take us all over Croatia if we could, and the company is professional and reliable!

Each stop was a different experience but each one so interesting. We especially liked the free time in Budva which allowed us to hire a small private boat to tour the island , swim in the sea and visit 4 blue grottos

Absolutely beautiful drive from Dubrovnik to Montenegro. Our driver, Ivan, gave a great history and general introduction to the area. Favorite stop had to be Budva with a great lunch and walking through the city without the crowds from the cruises.

Best way to explore Montenegro
ARNO_O
, Jul 2022
Even though our tour didn’t exactly go as planned due to rain and colder than normal temperatures today, our tour guide/driver Nino made the best of our time. He brought us to all the amazing places in Montenegro despite the weather and traffic. Our conversations in the car made up for the lost time. Nino is very informative and very sensitive to our needs given we have a 4 y/o toddler with us. His recommendations as far as where to eat were spot on! Nino made what could have been an uneventful day memorable. We would book with them again!

Private tour of Montenegro

, Jun 2022
Myself and my partner booked this trip as we wanted to explore some of Montenegro during our stay in Dubrovnik. Our driver Iva was fantastic, arriving on time to meet us and giving us all the information we needed on the places we visited. The towns of Perast and Kotor are absolutely spectacular with views in every direction you look. We also enjoyed having a couple of hours in Budva old town having some lunch before heading home. If you are wanting a hassle free trip then look no further.

What a great trip we had with our driver Nino we went to the beautiful Perast, Kotor and Budva. Nino was a great guide who gave us lots of great information on all of the places along the way. We were contacted the night before suggesting we go a bit earlier to avoid the queue at border control which turned out to be a great idea. We were picked up on time right outside our hotel, the car was spotless and the air con inside was priceless as the temperature was in the 30’s - many thanks for this fabulous day
