I was worried about getting tickets using mobile and not printing in china, but it was obvious where to go, and took less than a minute to pick up the tickets with no line from showing the voucher on my phone. Although we didn't have seats assigned, we received 2nd row seats in the section we paid for. It was an amazing view. The show is very aimed at the people in the VIP section, but I didn't feel I lost too much being in a cheaper seat. I just got a lot of side views rather than straight on. The show was great, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I was looking forward to see the Chinese acrobats that I heard so much about. The venue was perfect and one can see well from every part of the place and there is no good reason to go for the expensive ones. Further, the hall was far from being full, which means that you can buy tickets on your own before the show. Most of the acts were seen in any mediocre circus, and in some cases in more elegant ways with fewer mistakes. The most impressive act was the motorcycles in the metal ball, bettor than I have ever seen. In summary, in Shanghai there are not many 'attractions' and this could be nice way to spend an evening - too expensive for what you get-- in my opinion (many seemed to likeit 0. -

The show is fun for all ages. Great performance and colorful show. We sat at area D in the front row, which is considered the worst place in the theater, but we were able to see everything in all details and get the maximum of this show. Highly recommended!

I've lived in Shanghai for four years now, and I've seen so many shows. This is by far my favourite. Every time you think an act is over, they keep upping the game. Even after seeing it dozens of times, I am on the edge of my seat watching the performers. I bring all my friends and family to this show when they visit, and everyone agrees that it is the highlight of their trips. Everyone knows the Chinese circus is bananas. This one is out of this world.

We never got to the circus as our earlier tour to the water cities returned us to the hotel at 7:15pm and we were expecting to get back by 6pm....the venue was up to 30 minutes away and we were sad to miss the circus

Shanghai Circus World is a unique experience. Its a cross between a Cirque de Soleil show and an acrobatics show. With a little bit of the Beijing Opening Ceremony of the Olympics tossed in. I saw many people take a tour to get here, but I'm not sure why. Its located next to the metro station called Shanghai Circus station and you just enter with your ticket. Or if you want you can take a taxi or DiDi Uber in China. The acts in the show were amazing. Fun to watch and entertaining for the whole family. Although its not a circus, so little kids might be bored. Halfway through the show they have a 10 minute intermission. The show features live music and performer. I would NOT recommend getting the VIP seats. I was in section A lower and four rows from the front. I could see the sweat on the performers. Tickets are not assigned ahead of time, so arrive about 30-45 minutes early to get good seats ask for close seats if possible. As you enter they have snack stands with chocolate/candy, popcorn, soda, beer, water. As you leave they have some souvenirs. There are some glaring issues with Shanghai Circus. Its touted as multimillion dollar tourist attraction. The best part were the performers. The sets they use were old and dated, costumes were dirty, seats were uncomfortable, bathrooms need improvements, and the entrance is nothing special. Its not like going to a theater in New York or San Francisco where they have a grand lobby, nice bar, well maintained seats, and new outfits for the performers. With that said, I still highly recommend Shanghai Circus as a must see when your in Shanghai.

This was so amazing. First of all , as other reviews said, it is a small arena and you do not need to get the priciest seats. It was like Cirque de Soliel without the production values, but that is replaced by incredible acrobatic skills and a insane risk level. So much fun!
